Dec 2017 Exxaro
state of affairs

Project Governance and Compliance (PGC) is a new team with a new take on project governance and compliance in the Projects functional area. We are a team of eight and our focus is to support management to define the project management rules of the game and then check that all are playing according to the rules. The team has the following project functional focus: Planning, Cost Engineering, Estimating, Risk Management, Construction Management and Methodology & Systems.

This means that we strive to ensure that the Project Management systems, processes, procedures and standards are well defined and relevant for our project teams to enable them to focus on designing and building projects that will support Exxaro in reaching its strategic objectives. We play a big role in reporting project facts and figures that keep our stakeholders well informed on project status and performance.

As a team, we want to be regarded as a reliable partner to our mega-project teams and we therefore focus on providing guidance and support when called upon. This year was filled with reviewing and understanding what and how we should work in the new operating model to add value and getting to know what makes us tick as team. This has helped us create an exciting platform moving into 2018.

The PGC team is ready to help our teams build mega-projects.
